Why I want to be a JET Beauty: My parents have always taught me to be a leader. I’ve built my entire life around not being afraid of walking to the beat of my own drums. As a JET Beauty, I intend to continue to be an image of beauty, intelligence and class for young Black women by showing them that they’re fearfully and wonderfully made, while continuing to erase negative stereotypes about Black beauty. We are fierce, we are fabulous, and we are gentle creatures. I love being a Black woman who is not afraid to be vulnerable and to show all sides of womanhood and JET has given me the platform to exhibit that vulnerability with grace.
